Good news for a business in Cheltenham.
Davis Gregory Solicitors, based in Rodney Road, are expanding. Tim Wheeler, an experienced litigation lawyer, has joined Davis Gregory as a consultant. This is a return to Cheltenham as Tim spent 10 years with Willans in Imperial Square Cheltenham, where the successful department he built up was recommended in the Legal 500. He has recently been based with Whitemans of Gloucester.
Tim is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and a Member of the Institute of Credit Management and will be dealing with general civil litigation work and specialising in commercial debt recovery, enforcement and insolvency. Tim is seen as the local expert in this area of work, and acts for businesses in the County and Nationally. He will be joined at Davis Gregory by his two legal assistants, Deb Larcombe and Sarah Bruton.

Tim recently gave a talk to the members of the Bristol and West of England branch of the Institute of Credit Management on ‘Surviving the Credit Crunch’, giving tips on how to spot customers who are in difficulties and how Davis Gregory can help when problems arise. Tim says “As well as reviewing and tightening up on credit control procedures, businesses need to ensure their terms and conditions of trading are up to date, particularly any retention of title clause whereby sellers retain ownership of goods supplied until they are paid for. The key to successful recovery of your money or return of the goods is speed – you must get in first before other creditors or the insolvency of your customer.”
